So the idea of this game goes simply as this... Leon and Claire telling their stories. And we get to experience a new scenario featuring Jack Krauser before joining with Wesker.

Its main focus is reliving the events of Raccoon City (Resident Evil 2) and Rockfort Island (CODE: Veronica). There is also a new scenario called 'Operation Javier'. Each segment takes you through a series of chapters. You will be scored and ranked on your game play. Leon, Claire, Ada, Annette, William, Hunk, and Sherry all return for 'Memories of a Lost City'. Claire, Steve, the Ashford siblings Alexia & Alfred also return for the 'Game of Oblivion'. And of course as mentioned, the new scenario 'Operation Javier' features both Leon now as a US Government Official and Special Agent Jack Krauser.

:: Operation Javier ::

In 2002, somewhere in South America, Leon S. Kennedy and his partner Jack Krauser are searching for Javier Hidalgo. Javier is an ex-drug lord who some how became involved with Umbrella Inc., asking for there Veronica Virus. When Leon and Krauser arrive to the village where Javier's mansion is said to be, they learn the village has gone to the zombie side... all infected. Some zombies have the Sacred Snakes indentation, meaning that they worked for Javier. As they find their tour guide he is on the way to his death bed. Before his body gets taken away by a water-bound B.O.W., he says that the girl (Manuela) "brought devils to this village." They eventually find this girl, who we find out is Javier's daughter. Upon finding this girl, they face the B.O.W. monster that ate their tour guide. After successfully killing this creature Krauser immediately asks Leon to tell him what happened in Raccoon City and what Leon knows about these B.O.W.'s and this Biohazard outbreak. After revisiting Resident Evil 2, 'Memories of a Lost City', you return to Operation Javier where Leon and Krauser learn that the water-bound B.O.W. they killed was Manuela's mother. The segment shifts back to CODE: Veronica, 'Game of Oblivion'.

:: Memories of a Lost City ::

This segment simply revisits Resident Evil 2, but in a much more detailed and exciting look. Graphics could be better, i'd say it scores a 6 out of 10. Leon and Claire travel thru the city and the R.P.D. together this time. They find Sherry and soon meet up with Ada Wong in the parking garage. They battle through the same monsters we remember from the past. Newer looks, new scenes/areas. After defeating Birkin for the 3rd time, the train comes to a stop outside the city and the game resumes back to Operation Javier.

:: Game of Oblivion ::

Now for this revisit of CODE: Veronica, I must say I enjoyed it. The new 'Kill Show' area is really interesting and cool. The way the game stroles through the prison yard and into the mansion and new areas... very smooth and exciting to play. Both Claire and Steve stay together in this segment as well, fighting their ways to get off Rockfort Island and find her brother Chris Redfield at the sametime. Having to deal with the psychotic Alfred Ashford, and eventually, his sister Alexia, you will face Alfred in several "shoot outs." You will face the good old creatures from the Dreamcast version including Alexander Ashford mutated into Nosferatu, Alfred, and of course, Alexia... and whats that... Wesker in CODE: Veroinca?! And i'm not talking about a Battle Mode appearance or his 10 minute chat with Chris in CODE: Veronica X.!

Hands down I have to say that making the Darkside Chronicles and reliving RE2 and CODE: Veronica this way is awesome. I give it an 8 out of 10. It really connects all the stories together and really brings back that good old feeling of being freaked the f*** out! Even on the Hard option, the game play is true and fair. Not having to do all those stupid mazes and actually getting to just shoot and kill is a new game feature in itself. Could the graphics have been improved even more, YES. If they can port Rebirth and Zero to the Wii, and lets not forget Resident Evil 4; then they could have most certainly made the game play alittle more like the video footage in between game play.
