Evil Sequel Rumor
(3-7-02 - Posted by: crazie
@ 1:53ETp.m.)
The
following comes from scifi.com:
Eric Mabius, who co-stars in the upcoming SF horror
film Resident Evil, told SCI FI Wire that he may appear
in director Paul Anderson's proposed sequel--even though
the first film doesn't hit theaters until March 15.
Resident Evil, based on the Capcom video game series,
acts as a prequel to the first game.
In a possible spoiler for the sequel, Mabius said in
an interview, "This [film] brings us up to above
ground in Raccoon City. I'm going to be Nemesis in the
sequel. I'll be putting on 30 or 40 pounds and three
or four hours a day in prosthetics. This guy has tentacles
and all this crazy stuff going on." In the first
film, Mabius plays Matt, a character who did not appear
in any game. Matt gets infected with the T virus, and
the evil scientists take him away, saying, "We
want him in the Nemesis program." To play his mutated
form in the sequel, Mabius said that he will study the
game in which Nemesis appears.
"I prepare to an annoying extent usually, so I'll
probably dissect every possible aspect ... of the character,"
Mabius said. "Obviously, it will be predicated
on where the character goes in the script, but I'll
gather everything I can about the character [from the
game]." Anderson denied that a script was completed.
But Mabius suggested it was a done deal. "When
Bernd Eichinger, the head of Constantin Films, saw an
early cut in December, he wanted Paul to start writing
the sequel," Mabius said. "Based on some of
the pre-sales alone, Sony is demanding a sequel already.
It's pretty exciting and wasn't really anticipated."

So far, the only turn out of these bundles is that the

So far this is only known for Japan arrivals.

Has The Final Say
(2-13-02 - Posted by: crazie
@ 11:33ETp.m.)
Recently
there have been rumors about GameCubes poor sales making
Resident Evil turn back to the PS2 format. Capcom
Japan's web site told all that this isn't true at all.
Supposedly in some interview (made up or true?) with a
Steve Kent and a Bill Gardner (president of Capcom USA)
said that if Nintedo's sales didn't rise soon that they
may need to reconsider keeping Resident Evil only exclusive
to GameCube. Cap com Japan made sure that everyone
knows that this is NOT TRUE.
The
Japanese Cap com web sitereads:
"A rumor that Biohazard (Overseas name: Resident
Evil) may be supplied to platforms other than Nintendo
GameCube has started on overseas web sites recently. This
has no basis and is not true at all. Biohazard, Biohazard
0, Biohazard 2, Biohazard 3 - Last Escape, Biohazard Code
:Veronica Complete and Biohazard 4 are due to be put on
the market for Nintendo GameCube exclusively as we announced
on September 13th, last year. Our plans have not changed."
[Source: Cloudchaser Nintendo]
Also,
some wanted to know whether or not any games with be on
PS2. Well note that Gun Survivor 2 was made for
PS2 including the past announced online Resident Evil
game. More to come on that hopefully soon.
Capcom
also made a statement today about the titles that will
be networked. The following list comes from The
GIA who received this information from a Japanese web
site.
- Arc
the Lad Online (Sony)
- Bomberman
Online (Hudson)
- Final
Fantasy XI (Square)
- Guru
Guru Onsen (Sega)
- Hundred
Swords (Sega)
- Mojib
Ribbon Online (Sony)
- Nobunaga's
Ambition Online (Koei)
- Resident
Evil Online (Capcom)
- Untitled
Music Game (Konami)
- Untitled
Online Multiplayer RPG (Atlus)
- Untitled
Sim Game (Sega)
- Untitled
Action Adventure Game (Namco)

GIA]Capcom
recently released information for the Rebirth process.
The
game will still be released as planned on the 22nd of
March, this year. As said
before, the game will be the first on the GameCube system
to be on not one, but TWO discs. Capcom is planning
on releasing different packages for this game. One
being standard with game only for 6,800 yen, two being
the deluxe bundle including the game and a Memory Card
59 (as Nintendo is calling them) set at the price of 7,800
yen, and finally the latest (impending the arrival of
the game) package being the biggest of all - GameCube
entertainment system including Biohazard (Resident Evil)
- hopefully to help the sells of GameCube in Japan.
There is no official word on an actual Biohazard GameCube
system, somewhat like the Dreamcast S.T.A.R.S. and Dreamcast
Claire Redfield versions.
