[]Resident
Evil Gaiden
What
is this you may ask? Well looks like the Game Boy
Color will get a Resident Evil game for its handheld console.
Virgin Interactive UK has announced that the company will
publish this new game for the GBC. It's not the
original Resident Evil that was to be converted from the
PSX to the GBC, it's an entirely new game.
"In Resident Evil Gaiden, Barry Burton, S.T.A.R.S
member extraordinaire, hops on board a cruise ship infested
with those nasty zombies. You'll have to be all stealth-like
and stay out of sight in order to stay alive, otherwise
the zombies will know you're there and try and convert
you to the undead kind. The game will have more than 100
rooms to explore, in ten different environments. Throughout
the game, you'll assume the control of three different
characters in order to exterminate the decaying threat,
and the game will jump into a letterboxed first-person
perspective mode in certain parts of the adventure.
Resident Evil Gaiden is in development at UK studio M4,
the same team responsible for Acclaim's Jeremy McGrath
and Mary-Kate & Ashley Winners Circle, both for the
Game Boy Color. The development team was also reported
to be working on a Game Boy Color version of Dino Crisis,
but since nothing has been said about this project since
the first word more than a year ago, we're assuming Resident
Evil Gaiden has taken its place in production.
Resident Evil Gaiden does not have a US release, but the
game is being prepared for a Q4 2001 release in the UK.
It will be published by Virgin Interactive in the European
markets." -[ign]

In
other news Yoshiki Okamoto did speak on Resident Evil
Zero at E3. He stated that alot has had to change
with the game being switched to GameCube format.
But as for right now the game stands as a prequel to Resident
Evil. Nothing was commented on any further.

Sometime
back there was talk about a Resident Evil (or Biohazard)
game for mobile phones. Well looks like Japan mobile
phone users will be able to have this game. All
known at this moment is that this is only available in
Japan. [REMS] will keep you up to date with this
as soon as we know more.

[]Yum...
finally RE news...

-Capcom
reported this at their homepage sometime ago for one of
their new hits in the E3 line-up. (Release Date:
August 2001; PS2)
"After
narrowly surviving the horrific onslaught in Raccoon City,
Claire Redfield now seeks clues in search of her missing
brother, Chris. To her horror, she discovers Umbrella
Corporation's insidious activities are not isolated to
the remote, mid-western city. No. Something much larger
is going on here. Flesh-eating zombies, horrific beasts
and now Wesker, a stranger from the past haunt Claire's
every move. Just how far does this twisted conspiracy
extend? What is Umbrella Corporation really up to? And
who is behind this bio-tech terror?"
