This
section will include images for both the prototype version
and final version of Resident Evil (Rebirth) for the
GameCube. The following information may seem 'out of
date' but actually is from the time when GameCube was
to be the only system for future Resident Evil games
after the Rebirth release.
It
is official. GameCube systems will be the new
home for the Resident Evil (Biohazard)
series. (Well it used to be...)
March
22, 2002 was the set release date for the port of Biohazard
from PSX to the GameCube in Japan. The US port
would follow April 30, 2002. Shinji Mikami headed the
project. "The scenes are not taken from CG
movies. They are of actual game play running on the
GameCube hardware. You will actually be able to play
the game with this quality." You'll understand
that a little more when you check out the screens and
movies yourself!
This
was Shinji's time to shine. He wanted to use this opportunity
to really make Resident Evil, Resident Evil. Real life
game play, amazing detailed lighting and backgrounds,
actual game play like the once FMV's of the Playstation
version (but now with amazing DETAIL). Using all the
power and technology of the Nintendo GameCube we got
an amazing port of the original Resident Evil, reborn.
New scenes, areas, environments. New looks, creatures,
and... well if you haven't play it yet, your not a true
fan. Just check out all the yummy sections. Enjoy.
"Everyone
must be surprised because [the Biohazard series is now]
on the GameCube, but I have a clear and strong opinion
about being able to enjoy all of the Biohazard games
on one system. Therefore the series will be GameCube
exclusive."

(Shigeru
Miyamoto and Shinji Mikami)
